I have been working on planning a trip to Machu Pichu. Since I am taking my seventy seven years old mother, I choose decent and comfortable accommodations. One of the hotel in Cuzco is five star hotel. I chose this one because a room comes with oxygen supply. Cuzco is over 3600 m high. I am not sure how she can take it. But with oxygen tank in a room she should be ok. I checked price for a hotel at Machu Pichu. It would be 600 dollars more to stay at the mountain. I think we will stay at the bottom, Aguas Calientes.

Each room price is much more than what these people in Peruvian mountains make for several years. When I went there in 1980, I stayed in hotels which were maybe five dollars or so. Now I will pay fifty or even one hundred times. But again I cannot take my mother to cheap hotels without hot water.
I hope everything will go the way I am planning.
