I use a Sony Handycam HDR-SR12 now. Small, but a very good camera. It produces very clear image. It even shoots still photos (not impressed with result) About 30 years ago I was shooting a Bolex 16mm. Big difference. It is amazing. There is not even a tape any more. So there is no noise. With Sony I just shoot and burn DVDs most of the time. I do not have time to edit during semester.
I use a Flip for my Japanese language class. Youtube is great. Students use it. Very easy to post
video clips there. Connect a camera to a computer, sign in Youtube and download. That's all.
For Youtube, Flip works just fine. I use the camera at the widest angel. I think it has digital zooming and does not look great when I zoom in. I bought the Flip when CompUSA was closing and paid 50 dollars wondering if this thing really would work.
These young kids do not read books any more. I feel I have to use their medias to reach them.
I like new technology and challenge. I no longer use film. Do I miss film? Well, I am glad I do not have to use it for a job.

1978 is the first year I made money from photography.
